Expert Depression Care

A Holistic Approach to Depressive Disorders

At Intra Health Services, we specialize in the treatment of depression — a condition that affects mood, energy, sleep, appetite, and overall quality of life. Our approach combines expert medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and lifestyle guidance to help you feel like yourself again.

Depression looks different for everyone. We take the time to understand your unique symptoms — whether it's persistent sadness, loss of interest, fatigue, or changes in sleep and appetite — and tailor treatment accordingly. Our goal is not just symptom relief but restoring your ability to engage with life.

What Our Depression Care Includes

  • Comprehensive diagnostic assessment to differentiate major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, and other mood conditions
  • Personalized medication management (SSRIs, SNRIs, Wellbutrin, and other evidence-based options)
  • Regular monitoring for symptom improvement, side effects, and treatment adherence
  • Psychoeducation and behavioral activation strategies
  • Coordination with therapists for CBT, IPT, or other evidence-based therapies

Our Process

How Our Depression Care Works

Structured, supportive, and tailored — we're with you through every phase of recovery.

1

Initial evaluation (60-90 min) — thorough assessment of mood history, symptoms, and past treatments.

2

Collaborative treatment planning — medication selection, therapy recommendations, and lifestyle tools.

3

Ongoing follow-ups (15-30 min) to adjust medications, track progress, and prevent relapse.

Behavioral Activation & Lifestyle Support

Beyond medication, we help you rebuild routines, improve sleep, increase activity, and reconnect with what matters.

Warm, Non-Judgmental Care

We understand that depression can feel hopeless and isolating. Our approach is compassionate, respectful, and free of stigma.

FAQ

Common Questions About Depression Treatment

What's the difference between major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder?
Major depressive disorder involves episodes of severe symptoms lasting at least 2 weeks. Persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia) is a chronic, lower-grade depression lasting at least 2 years. Both are treatable, and we tailor care accordingly.
How long does it take for antidepressants to work?
Most antidepressants take 4-6 weeks to reach full effect. Some people notice improvement earlier. We monitor closely and adjust as needed.
Do I have to take medication forever?
Not necessarily. Many people take medication for 6-12 months after remission, then taper off with their provider's guidance. Others benefit from longer-term maintenance. Your plan is personalized.
Can I do therapy instead of medication?
Yes, therapy (especially CBT and IPT) is highly effective for depression. We can provide therapy referrals or coordinate with your existing therapist. Some patients do best with both.
Do you treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD)?
Yes, we treat SAD with medication, light therapy recommendations, and lifestyle adjustments.
